Model 16: Overwatch

This weeks model started off as an idea in my head for a layout , I drew it and then it went from there. Normally I think more about the overall shape first and then do the room layout once i've got the outer walls all in place. So doing it this way round makes a change.

The layout was quite simple. The ground floor is open. A central open corridor leads from the door past a kitchen space, then a dinning space and finally to the open living space, complete with glass wall for unbroken views to the landscape. Also on this floor opposite the kitchen is a guest bedroom and then tucked behind the stairs is a guest bathroom.

The first floor has a few more rooms to it, and the final layout has changed a bit since the drawing. The stairs lead up to a small landing and on either side of this is a bedroom. A corridor then leads along to second landing off of which is the master bedroom and ensuite. Next to this is a large office space and then on the other side of the landing is a large bathroom, to serve the two bedrooms. Behind the bathroom is access out to the large balcony that wraps around the back of the building, giving views to watch over a large area.

I decided to keep the outside fairly simple. Mostly white wall render with then the feature of the wood clad corner tower. Also created a deck under the back part of the balcony and a driveway under the side part.

I'm not 100% on the scale of the car but it looks about right and I thought it was a cool addition so I put it in.

Once again the iPhone was on filming the build so there's another full build video to accompany this model.
