First of all sorry this is up rather late. I did have the model done and photographed by Friday but I didn't have time on friday to get it all together and do the write up and what not. Then I was away over the weekend. So apologies for that.
Now onto this weeks model. The inspiration came from another favourite TV shows of mine, Death in Paradise. It's a cracking show, I would highly recommend watching it.
In the show the lead character lives in a little old wooden beach house. That is the inspiration for this weeks model.
My approach was that of restoration. As lovely as it is how might you go about trying to pep it up a bit and renew it.
I kept the main structure of the building the same. A central space with a verander most of the way round it. I switched out the fence parts for glass though, your on a beach so make the most of it, you dont want anything cutting up the view. I also wanted to give it a bit more height so I gave it a pitched roof. That also meant I could bring in a second material finish to bring some contrast in the building. Also I think I was probably thinking about classic beach huts with there pitched roofs, I've always liked that and its what you think of when you think beach hut.
