The inspiration for this weeks model comes from this picture.
I liked the idea of having an uninterrupted view out to the sea. So that became the central idea for this weeks model. I've also noticed most of the models i've been doing have some kind of wood cladding element, it seems to be my style, so i've carried that through with this model. It's on the sea front so i also included a jetty, if your on the seafront you might as well have a jetty.
The bottom floor was left very open planned. There's a large living space that's only broken by a low wall to indicate where a kitchen island would be placed, the long side of the island is arranged to be perpendicular to the glass front so if it was used as a breakfast bar type thing you would still to able to look out at the sea, rather than having your back to it. The only other space on the bottom floor is the staircase, which is tucked at the back by the front door. As well is leaving the rest of the floor open it also creates a small foyer space.
The top floor is split into three spaces. The staircase comes out to a small space that could accommodate a desk to be a small open work space or be some kind of little snug come reading corner. A walkway leads round from this space to the other areas of the top floor. There's a small guest room with ensuite. The walkway also continues onto the main space, a large master bedroom with a glass front for views out to sea, its on ensuite and also a balcony.
